What Is The Light of Stars?

The Light of Stars is a captivating constellation of hand-sculpted paper stars, illuminating the historic Bath Abbey. Designed to complement the Abbey’s 17th-century stained-glass windows, the installation creates a striking contrast between traditional architecture and contemporary art. At its heart lies the radiant Advent Star, symbolising unity and hope as it highlights the Abbey’s nativity scene. This unique display is not just a visual feast; it’s a celebration of togetherness and the shared human experience, bringing people from all walks of life together under one glowing canopy.

The Stars Behind the Magic

Each star in The Light of Stars is meticulously handcrafted using responsibly sourced FSC-certified paper. The designs are screen-printed by hand with plant-based pigments, showcasing Paper Starlights’ dedication to sustainability and traditional craftsmanship.

What makes these stars truly special is their global story. From skilled artisans in India to the creative team in the UK, this installation represents a fusion of cultures, faiths, and talents, united by a shared mission: to spread joy and light.
