How to Use Paper Starlights at Your Event

Above Dance Floors
Hang stars above your dance floor to create a celestial glow that moves with the music. Lightweight and easy to suspend from festoon cables, beams or hooks — no rigging required.

Ceremony & Entrance Styling
Use white or cream stars to flank entrances or frame a ceremony arch. They catch light beautifully in photos and create an instant “wow” as guests arrive.

Over Dining Tables
Hang stars at varying heights above tables for soft light and sculptural depth. Perfect for long banquet layouts, round tables, or a show-stopping head table.

Inside Marquees & Tipis
Create a floating ceiling with USB-powered stars or festoon drops. Ideal for open structures like marquees, tipis and sailcloth tents. Stars fold flat for easy reuse.
One Decoration. Every Kind of Event.
A star designs that adapts beautifully, no matter the venue, guest list, or vision.

Weddings
Ivory, blush, and gold-toned stars float above dinner tables, dance floors, and altars; creating glow, intimacy, and movement. Perfect for barns, marquees, gardens, or grand ballrooms.
💡 Tip: Mix small and large stars at varying heights to frame your ceremony space or entrance with elegance.

Corporate Events & Galas
From product launches to holiday dinners, stars create visual rhythm without the cost or carbon footprint of traditional installations. Use deep metallic tones, blacks, or whites for elevated brand styling.
💡 Tip: Hang from spider pendants or long drop festoon cables for a dramatic canopy over dining rows or stages.

Student Balls & Society Events
Whether you're styling a winter formal, a graduation celebration, or a themed student union night, stars bring colour and creativity to every venue. Lightweight, fold-flat, and easily stored for reuse next term.
💡 Tip: Use over existing pendants in the venue. Our stars also look beautiful as unlit 3D paper decorations.
Open
To open your star shaped lantern, hold the star flat, place one hand inside one of the outermost points and gently ease the point of the star outwards. Repeat this action. Ensure that each point is opened out before continuing on to the next.
Light
Choose your lighting: USB LED kit, long drop festoon, or spider pendant fitting. Place the light bulb into the centre of the star. Using the two pieces of cord on the star, gently bring the two outermost points together and tie
Glow
Power up your lighting and step back. The star’s intricate cutouts and warm light will cast beautiful shapes and mood across your venue.
Final check: Dim the room lights and check from a guest’s perspective. This is the moment they’ll remember.

FAQs
Can I use the stars outdoors?
Yes — with care.
Our stars are designed for indoor use or dry outdoor settings. They’re perfect for sheltered outdoor events like marquees, tipis, or covered pergolas. Just make sure they’re protected from rain, moisture, or high winds, as they’re made from paper.
Pro Tip: If you’re styling a garden or patio area, use a canopy, tent, or parasol to shield your stars, and bring them inside after use.
Are they fire-safe?
Yes with proper LED lighting, they’re safe for indoor use. We recommend using a low-heat of 3–5.5 watt LED bulb inside each star. However, our stars are British Standard Tested up to 40 watts and comply with BS EN IEC 60598-1:2021.
If your venue requires documentation or clarification, we’re happy to assist.

You’ve got options:
- USB LED Kits – ideal for off-grid, portable setups
- Long Drop Festoons – mains-powered for overhead installs
- Spider Pendants – great for fixed venue lighting with multi-point drops

Can I reuse the stars?
Absolutely.
Each star folds flat after use, stores easily, and is designed for multiple installs. Many stylists use their stars across weddings, photoshoots, seasonal installs, and student balls.
Fold gently, store in a sleeve or envelope, and reuse again and again.
You can always add more later. Our collections are easy to match and expand.
How many stars should I order?
It depends on the space.
As a guide (depending on how many bulbs you have):
- Small setups (tabletop, corners): 1–3 stars
- Medium installs (entryways, dance floors): 5–9 stars
- Ceiling canopies or large marquees: 20+ stars for visual coverage
Pro Tip: Odd numbers always look best. Vary size and height for depth.
