In this guide, we'll walk you through everything you need to know about choosing the perfect light bulb for your needs.
Find Your Perfect Light Bulb
If you plan on using our star as a lampshade or with one of our cable kits, you'll need to ensure you have the right bulb for your light fitting.
When using our star as a lampshade over your existing fitting, start by checking what fitting type you have. It's likely to fall into one of three types:
- Bayonet Cap (BC)
- Edison Screw (ES) - E27
- Small Edison Screw (SES) - E14
Step 2: Select the Perfect Bulb. Take a look at the image featuring a variety of popular bulbs. We've marked the ones that we highly recommend for use with the stars, along with the recommended wattage for each.
Discover the perfect choice for your lighting needs - LED bulbs!
These amazing bulbs not only save energy and money but also emit less heat, making them a top-notch environmental and budget-friendly option.
Keep an eye out for two essential technical specifications when selecting your LED bulb: Lumens and Kelvins.
Lumens
In simple terms, lumens refer to the total amount of visible light emitted by a lighting fixture or bulb. The higher the number of lumens, the brighter the light will be.
To put it into perspective, traditional incandescent bulbs tend to have a higher wattage (power consumption) to produce a certain level of brightness. However, with the introduction of LED technology, we can now achieve the same level of brightness with significantly fewer watts, making LEDs much more energy-efficient.
Whether you're going for a starry glow or a brighter ambiance, LED bulbs have got you covered!
Now, let's talk about Kelvins, which determines the color temperature of the bulb. You might come across terms like "warm white" and "cool white." We highly recommend the inviting and cozy glow of "warm white," measured as 2700k - 3000k. You'll find that most hardware stores carry bulbs in this pleasant warm white tone.
So, if we were to suggest the perfect LED bulb for you to use with our star lanterns, it's the LED candle bulb with a power rating of 5.5 watts, boasting that lovely warm white hue (2700k). Enjoy the ideal lighting experience for your home or workspace!
For our Baby Prosecco star, only use this type of bulb. All the others are too big!
